The fjord is known for its shallow waters and calm waves, making it ideal for families with children. At our campsite, the Limfjord is particularly shallow, making it child-friendly and suitable for paddleboarding and kayaking. On windy days, the fjord is ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. On the large lawn by the fjord, there is plenty of space for your equipment, and it is possible to camp close to the water.
Explore the fjord and learn about life underwater. Borrow free waders, fishing nets, binoculars, etc., and try the underwater trail, where 8 posts are placed in the Limfjord. Here you can walk, swim, or sail around and see which animals are hiding. It is free to use the "Underwater Trail and Nature Room," which we have in collaboration with "Nature Expedition and Vandaksen." Hvalpsund is the ideal choice for anglers. By the fjord, there is plenty of space and opportunities to catch a sea trout.
Experience the beautiful landscape of Limfjord on one of the many nature trails in the area. Walk through the forests, along the fjord, and enjoy the views. Walk along the fjord to the charming marina and continue along the beach promenade to the ferry port. Hvalpsund is a small harbor town, and from here, you can sail with the ferry 'Mary' to Sundøre. The ferry crossing takes about 10 minutes and is a great experience for the children. Many tourists use the ferry to visit the local 'Distillery' and 'Thiese dairy', where there are delicious samples of cheese.
