Camping with your own caravan by the Limfjord

Hvalpsund Familie Camping runs right down to the water's edge of the Limfjord in Vesthimmerland, Denmark. The site has 235 pitches, and whether you arrive in a caravan, a motorhome or a tent, you are never far from the water. From the front row there is nothing but lawn between you and the fjord, and in the evening the sun sets straight out in front of the site.

Choose your pitch

Five types of pitch – from panorama pitches with the fjord right in front of you to comfortable standard pitches – plus pitches for tents.

• The view and the breeze off the fjord on the front pitches.
• Shelter behind the tall trees, if you prefer peace and quiet.
• Pitches close to the playground and the pool area, so the children can run back and forth on their own.
• Electric hook-up on most pitches with 7 kWh a day included – and you can buy more.
• Toilet and shower blocks with family rooms and a kitchen, centrally placed on the site.
• A few minutes’ walk to the café, the shop and the pool area.
• Open all year – a quiet week in October works just as well as the high season.
• You choose the pitch that suits you best when you book.

The campsite lies right down by the Limfjord, and in the evening the sun sets just off the site. Find your pitch and enjoy the fjord view from the very first evening.

Good to know

The practical details before you leave home.

• Check-in and check-out

  Check in from 13.00 on the day of arrival. Check out by 11.00 – you are welcome to stay on the site until 12.00.

• Arrival outside opening hours

  Book online and drive straight in, or book a pitch at the self-service screen in front of reception. The barrier is open from 07.00 to 22.00.

• Choose your own pitch

  In the online booking you can see the available pitches and choose the one you want. The site map shows the whole campsite before you book.

• Electricity

  Electricity is paid per day and includes 7 kWh. If you need more, you can buy electricity packages online in the guest portal or in reception.

• Sanitary facilities

  Toilets, showers, family rooms, laundry and a kitchen with ovens and gas rings. Hot showers are paid for with a PIN code, which you will find in the guest portal.

• Dogs are welcome

  You are welcome to bring your dog. Dogs are not allowed inside the sanitary buildings.

• Wi-Fi

  Wi-Fi is free in the café and the pool area. If you want internet on your own pitch, you can buy access as needed.

• Barbecue and campfire

  You are welcome to bring your own barbecue. On the lawn by the fjord there is a campfire site and a football pitch.

• Open all year

  The campsite is open all year. Reception, café and pool are open in season – check the opening hours for the date you arrive.

• Down to the Limfjord

  The campsite runs right down to the water. The beach is shallow and child friendly, and you can rent paddleboards and transparent kayaks.

A day on the site

Fresh bread can be ordered the day before and collected in the shop when you get up. From there, most things are close by: a walk along the fjord, an hour's fishing in our put & take lake, or a day on the beach, where the water is shallow and calm enough for the youngest to join in.

Equipment for the underwater trail is ready in the nature room, so you can take waders, nets and a water telescope out into the fjord and see what is hiding below the surface. Later in the day there is time for the pool, a turn on the bouncy pillow or a cup of coffee at Café Himmelblå while the day sets over the water.

Pool and playground

In summer there is a heated outdoor pool, and the playground has a jumping pillow and plenty of room to play. While the children play, you can enjoy the peace and the view from your own pitch.

The whole family is welcome

Bring your dog on holiday

You are welcome to bring your dog – both on the campsite and in our cabins. There are lovely walks along the fjord and in the countryside just outside the site.

Pets are not allowed inside the toilet and shower blocks.

Familiedrevet campingplads helt tæt på naturen – lige ned til Limfjorden og med første parket til solnedgangen. De har en lækker pool, som vi ved tidligere besøg har benyttet med stor glæde. Denne gang boede vi i en af deres Spa Premium-hytter, og WAUW! Flot rengjort, smuk indretning og simpelthen så hyggeligt med privat spa og en fantastisk udsigt. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Lige hjemkommet fra Hvalpsund Familie Camping, som vi besøgte for første gang. Det var en god oplevelse. Ualmindelig flot beliggenhed med panoramaudsigt over Limfjorden. Fine og rene forhold på toiletterne, i bruserummet og køkkenet. Det var en rolig og stille plads med frisk luft. Hyggeplads. Ingen tivoli. Ren afslapning.

Highly recommended, a really beautiful campsite in a great location, everything very clean, a paradise for anglers... but also perfect for campers seeking peace and quiet. Shopping facilities are nearby, and the fish market isn't far away either, where you can get really good fish. We'll definitely be back.

Nem indtjekning, kode til strøm efter forbrug, bad, brød osv. Pænt og rent overalt og hyggeligt med blomsterbede, som er velholdte. Flotte shelters. Put & take-sø. Fri benyttelse af naturen med waders, mikroskop osv. Flot udsyn over vandet, dejlig vandretur langs vandet, gennem skoven eller til havnen. God Brugs 1 km væk.

En campingplads med fine pladser med fantastisk udsigt over Limfjorden, rene og fine faciliteter og venligt personale. Kan anbefales.
